Sira Veciana-Muiño
Founder and President


Sira Veciana-Muiño is the founder of the South Florida Women In-House Counsel Group (SFWIHCG) and currently serves as Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs at Great American Media.  A versatile global business executive, Sira brings a wealth of expertise in legal, technology, and strategic business leadership across a range of industries.  Throughout her legal career, Sira has maintained a diverse and broad corporate background and developed a deep expertise in leading and scaling corporate legal functions supporting regulatory compliance, employment and labor, and government affairs.   

Sira has been continuously recognized for being an innovative, collaborative and strategic business partner with a team-oriented approach that builds trusted relationships both inside and outside her organizations. 
Her past roles include VP of Business and Legal Affairs at Sony Pictures Entertainment, Director of Business and Legal Affairs at Lynk Properties, Counsel at ViacomCBS, and Associate Attorney at White & Case, where she began her career specializing in M&A and capital markets.

In 2020, Sira received the prestigious Daily Business Review Award for Promoting Diversity and Inclusion in In-house Legal Departments, honoring her work in founding and leading the SFWIHCG.

Outside of her professional life, Sira is an avid cyclist, tech aficionado, and enthusiastic advocate for AI and blockchain technologies. She enjoys cycling along the Miami Beach boardwalk with her children, taking walks with her husband, and cheering on her son at his soccer games.



 Lauren Brunswick serves as General Counsel to Celdara Medical.  Lauren has twenty years of experience counseling clients in a broad range of transactional and litigation matters.  She previously served as Senior Director, Corporate Counsel with The American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.  She began her career as an attorney with the international law firm Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP.  She earned her Juris Doctor degree from The University of Pennsylvania School of Law (magna cum laude) and her undergraduate degree from Brown University.  In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her daughters and coaching sports.

Maritza Gomez
Board Member
Maritza Gomez is a Senior Counsel for Employment for Gap Inc. She has been practicing law for over 20 years. In her current role, Ms. Gomez counsels and supports Old Navy’s business partners throughout the United States on a wide variety of topics involving Employment Law. She also counsels and supports all brands business partners in Puerto Rico. Moreover, Ms. Gomez works with all brands business partners in the creation of policies and other practices to be implemented nationwide as required by law. 

Previously to joining Gap Inc., Ms. Gomez worked as a Partner in various law firms representing employers in Florida and Puerto Rico. Ms. Gomez is also a former Trial Attorney for the Miami District Office of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She earned her B.S. in Marketing from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, her Juris Doctor from the Catholic University of Puerto Rico and her L.L.M with a Concentration in Labor and Employment from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.



Cynthia Jacobs is a 25+ year in-house corporate attorney supporting multinational companies located in San Francisco, South Florida and abroad.  Currently Cindy is with Salesforce, a tech/SaaS company handling commercial needs of multinational enterprise companies.  Prior to Salesforce, Cindy had the opportunity to join a unicorn tech start up, Vlocity, Inc. supporting Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).  In 2020, Vlocity was acquired by Salesforce and Cindy joined Salesforce as Director, Senior Corporate Counsel, in Commercial Legal.  Prior to the SaaS world, Cindy served in various capacities as in-house attorney and leader at several South Florida companies (GlobeNet, TracFone Wireless, and Visa  (Latin American and Caribbean region)). Cindy is a Miami Beach, Florida native, fully bilingual in English and Spanish, Florida barred, and recently certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals as a Certified Information Privacy Professional/US (CIPP/US) and a AI Governance Professional.

Michelle Pelletier
Board Member
Michelle currently works at American Express as a Vice President in Control Management, leading a global team responsible for management and remediation of operational risk events and other process and control related issues.  Prior to her Control Management role, Michelle spent 11 years in the General Counsel’s Organization at American Express, where she provided legal guidance for business clients primarily located in Latin America, with a focus on transactional and regulatory work. 

Michelle is a summa cum laude graduate of the Wilkes Honors College of Florida Atlantic University, and a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Miami School of Law.  She also holds an LL.M. in international business law from the ESADE Law & Business School at the Universidad Ramon Llull in Barcelona, Spain.  

Michelle deeply believes in the power of education and mentoring, having experienced the lasting impact of several important mentors in her life, and she proudly serves as a Board Member for Path to College, a nonprofit organization in Lake Worth, Florida that provides a mentorship and college readiness program for high achieving underprivileged high school students. 

In her free time, Michelle enjoys playing the violin, practicing yoga and traveling the world, and she is fluent in both English and Spanish.



Eve Perez-Torres is a board member of the South Florida Women In-House Counsel Group. Eve is an experienced and results-focused senior legal advisor and team leader with 18+ years of extensive corporate and litigation experience. She is a solution-oriented strategic partner to the business, fostering collaborative relationships with stakeholders to optimize business opportunities and mitigate risks by ensuring regulatory compliance and providing effective legal advise.

Eve is currently serving at FedEx as Senior Attorney, where she the company navigate and solve complex transactions involving multiple business units and cultural contexts. Prior to FedEx, Eve joined Chiquita Brands International as In-House Counsel focusing her practice on global contracts and cross-border litigation and international arbitration. Eve is authorized to practice law in both the Republic of Colombian and the state of Florida, where she obtained her J.D. from the Florida International University College of Law.

Eve is very active in the in-house legal community serving also as a board member of the Association of Corporate Counsel-South Florida Division, Co-chair of the Business Law Section of the HNBA, and recently appointed as a Commissioner at the HNBA Latina Commission 2024-2025.

Delia Reyes
Board Member
Delia C. Reyes is currently the Vice President-Associate Counsel, Compliance & Ethics at Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits (SGWS )– Central Region. Delia has been employed by SGWS since 2020 in Legal & Compliance roles of increasing responsibility.  Prior to joining SGWS, Delia gained years of industry experience with one of SGWS largest suppliers, Baradi where she oversaw the legal operations of the company in areas such as global procurement, marketing and innovation, distributor arrangements, trade practice and regulatory compliance, real estate and corporate communications. Prior to joining Bacardi as a consultant, Delia served a Sr. Procurement Counsel at SABMiller, Inc., the world’s second largest brewer, and was successfully responsible for developing and strengthening procurement legal support levels, standards and systems throughout the Latin America Region. She was also a Member of the Latin America Procurement Leadership. Delias was the recipient of the LATAM Procurement Recognition Award for partnership and contributions to year end goals.

Prior to that, Delia was a Corporate Counsel at Grupo Phoenix, a Minority Owned Business specializing in rigid packaging with operations in Latin America and US. Before joining Grupo Phoenix, Delia served as Legal Director for the Latin America Region at Burger King Corporation and as an attorney in Venezuela.

Delia is a graduate of the SGWS EmpowHER leadership program and big advocate for diversity and inclusion in the workplace, especially women’s professional development.

Delia is a Venezuelan attorney with a US Master of Laws degree from the University of Miami and is qualified to practice in Venezuela, the state of New York and in Florida as an Authorized in- House Counsel. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading and trying new recipes.  Delia’s favorite cocktail is the St. Germain Spritz!  

 



Edna is the global Head of Corporate Legal for FIFA, based in Miami. With over 25 years of experience in both law firms and international in-house legal teams, Edna has extensive knowledge of corporate, transactional, compliance and litigation matters. After graduating from Law School at Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla, Colombia, Edna earned a Post-Graduate Degree in Commercial Law at Universidad de los Andes in Bogota. In 2005, she completed her Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from Harvard Law School. Before joining FIFA, Edna was a Managing Director in the Legal Department at FedEx Express – Latin America & Caribbean division, overseeing legal matters in 40+ countries. Edna is qualified to practice law in Colombia and in the State of New York and is a Florida Authorized House Counsel.

Ana Velez

Ana serves as corporate counsel for Verizon Consumer Group, where she is the lead attorney for the Straight Talk brand and the Verizon Value Brand Base Marketing teams. In her role, Ana provides comprehensive legal support on commercial and marketing matters, advising on product launches, advertising issues, and privacy concerns.

Ana has spent the majority of her career in-house, where she has gained extensive experience as a commercial attorney. She has been responsible for drafting key company agreements and has managed regulatory investigations and high-exposure litigations. She began her legal career in big law, practicing in New York City and later in Miami. During this time, she specialized in international arbitration, commercial litigation, and compliance. Her diverse background in both private practice and in-house roles has equipped her with a deep understanding of the business and legal landscapes, enabling her to provide strategic legal advice that aligns with business objectives.



Lucretia Pitts Barrett is a highly experienced General Counsel based in Plantation, Florida. With a robust background in contract negotiation, litigation management, risk management, and regulatory compliance, Lucretia has consistently demonstrated her ability to lead and innovate in the legal field.
 
Throughout her career, Lucretia has held several key positions that highlight her expertise and leadership. Most recently, she served as the General Counsel of Operations at Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Company from 2018 to 2024. In this role, she spearheaded defense litigation strategies for homeowner’s insurance policy disputes, directed internal committees to adapt processes in response to legislative changes, and managed vendor bid programs to maintain budgeted costs. Her leadership was instrumental in transitioning over 200 employees to remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring business continuity and maintaining cost-effective employee salary packages.
 
Lucretia's dedication to the legal profession is further evidenced by her involvement in various professional organizations and leadership roles. She has been a Board of Director and Treasurer for the Better Business Bureau of South Florida, Co-Chair of the Metrics & Analytics Interest Group at the Association of Corporate Counsel, and an Advisory Council member for the National Association of Minority & Women Owned Law Firms. Additionally, she has been a speaker at several conferences, sharing her insights on legal operations, data presentation, and the power of AI in improving workflow.
